Browser control

Browser control suits tasks that need your real signed-in state: reading dashboard data, operating a web tool, filtering page content, or placing generated results where you specify.

It is different from ordinary capture: capture saves the current page content, while browser control operates a chosen tab for the duration of a task.

What you need first

• The Beav desktop app is running.
• The Beav browser extension is installed and enabled.
• The target page is already open in Chrome, or Beav is allowed to create a new tab.
• You have the right to access and operate that page.

Released builds of Beav manage the local browser connection for you, so you do not need to import MCP configuration by hand or run development commands.

Actions Beav can perform

Within the capabilities currently available, Beav can:

• Open, switch to, and read tabs.
• Read page structure and visible text.
• Click buttons and links.
• Type content, press keys, and scroll.
• Wait for a page or element to load.
• Take screenshots and pass them back into the creation task.
• Track downloads started by the task.

Control status

Tabs created or taken over by Beav show a control status. When the task ends, you cancel it, or the Agent delivers the result, Beav should release the tab and clear the status.

If the status stays for a long time, stop the matching task in Beav and then reload the extension. Do not start several conflicting automation tasks on the same page.

Actions that need confirmation

Browser control started by an external Agent requires approval. Anything that publishes, submits a form, deletes content, makes a purchase, triggers paid generation, or exports outside Beav should confirm the target and the consequence before it runs.

Beav should never ask you for a site password. When a login is required, you sign in yourself in your own browser, and Beav continues only on pages you have authorized.

When the connection fails

First confirm the desktop app and the extension are both running, then open the side panel and check the connection status. If it still fails, follow Extension troubleshooting to check the extension folder, reload the extension, and refresh the page.
